Hailing from Seattle, Riley spent his formative years immersed in the city’s vibrant theatre and alternative art scene. He moved to Los Angeles in 2014 to pursue a career in film and TV. In 2021 he achieved his MFA in Professional Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Now based in London, Riley splits his time between the US and UK.

Riley has performed onstage at multiple award-winning American theatres such as Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman, Theatre @ Boston Court (where he originated the role of “Jason” in the world premiere production of Stefanie Zadravec’s Colony Collapse in 2016), and South Coast Repertory.

Notable onscreen credits include: Sgt. Mike Boccuzzi in Masters of the Air on Apple TV+ (produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg), Kurt in the feature film Lee (opposite Kate Winslet), Drew Jones in The Pitt on HBO, Derek Mitchell in the Netflix feature film The Union (starring Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry), Tim in I Ship It on CW, Dag Barta in Citadel on Amazon prime, and Michael in the award-winning short film The Gift (directed by Mardig Sheridan). Other credits include: Criminal Minds (CBS), The Catch (ABC), Z Nation (SyFy).

Riley is known for his full-body, interdisciplinary approach to voice studies. He was mentored in the Linklater Voice Method by Kimberly White in Seattle and master teacher Fran Bennett in Los Angeles between 2010-2019 and has also trained in The Art of Screaming with renowned Seattle voice teacher Susan M. Carr, vocal coach to many Grammy-nominated bands and artists such as Alice in Chains, The Head & The Heart, Alien Ant Farm, Macklemore, Mastodon, and Minus The Bear. In 2024, Riley was introduced to Jean-René Toussaint of the “Primitive Voice” method, a remarkable lifework which awakens the body’s first sound—raw, instinctive, and deeply human—through breath, vibration, and movement, unlocking a way of listening and expressing that begins before words.

As a martial arts practitioner with over 10 years of experience, Riley has pioneered a series of voice and movement workshops that integrate martial arts techniques with traditional voice practice, offering students a new level of vocal power and confidence.
